US company Degrava Systems and OKI Printing Solutions, of Japan, have formed a strategic partnership making OKI the exclusive distributor for Degrava's DP-8500 digital colour press in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Equipped with OKI’s digital LED print engine, the DP-8500 is said to be an affordable, high quality, simple system for short run, single pass, continuous colour “photo quality” printing of labels, forms and tags. It offers built-in colour management to ensure exactly the right shades for brand logos and prints at 600dpi.
The RIP processor accepts files including images, text and bar codes from both PCs and Macs through a shared network. The press operates on a patented pinch roller system that allows uniform tension whatever the media, which can be on rolls of up to 5,000 linear feet.
