Deal to develop direct ablation

ZED Instruments, of the UK, Ligum, in the Czech Republic, and US based Fulflex Flexographic are to jointly promote the laser ablation of seamless, in-the-round elastomeric sleeves for flexo printing worldwide.

ZED manufactures systems for direct digital laser ablation for flexo, dry offset and letterpress. Ligum supplies elastomeric covered rolls for flexo in Europe. Gummiwerk Krailburg, Ligum's elastomeric compound supplier, will also be involved in the project. Fulflex manufactures elastomeric plates and sleeves mainly for the North American market.

ZED and Fulflex are both owned by The Moore Co, whildst Ligum is owned by Germany's Westland Group,
