DCM bags US company

28 March 2008

US manufacturer of paper bag making machines and in-line flexo presses HG Weber & Co has been acquired by DCM Group North America for an undisclosed sum.

The Kiel, WI, based company and its employees will become part of the French DCM Group including DCM Usimeca (flexible packaging printing and converting machines), ATN (printing lines with rotary die cutting for light boards) and Holweg (flat and satchel paper bag making machines).

The total group turnover in 2007 was €60M, with 300 employees, about half of which was accounted for by the paper bag business combining Holweg and Weber.

The acquisition allows DCM to offer paper converters a full range of bag making machines - flat and square bottom – and to enlarge its distribution networks and sales forces. Weber will feature in the group exhibit at drupa, on stand 10E39, in hall 10.
