Davis-Standard film line at Hyplast

23 January 2007

Hyplast, of Hoogstraten, Belgium, has ordered a 20m blown film line from the Converting Systems Group of Davis-Standard. It will include MAC super air cooled extruders and a 2,000mm three-layer proprietary die system. The custom die system features an insulated IBC system with a special internal and external heating mechanism to reduce melt fracture and help increase rates. The design of the upper nip and gusseting is also customized, allowing for dual collapsing techniques.

The line will use a 200mm core extruder and two 165mm skin extruders to achieve targeted outputs of over two 2t/hour.

Hyplast produces a range of monolayer and multi layer PE films for the agricultural, horticultural, construction and converting industries. These films include silo and silage bags, ground covers with gas retention properties, UV resistant greenhouse covers, automotive and industrial films, and construction films that provide humidity and weather protection. Many are produced in widths up to 20m and thicknesses of up to 200 micron.
