The Deeside, UK, plant of folding carton manufacturer Mayr-Melnhof Packaging has installed a VLF Screen PlateRite Ultima 32000 CTP system to support the expansion of its packaging services.
MMP UK's first move into CTP production, the 32-page Screen system has increased plate production from two (insert plate size) plates to 23 plates/hour. It supplies the company's MAN Roland and KBA offset presses producing cartons for the food industry.
Steve McGuinness, operations director, MMP UK, says: "Our specific requirements of size flexibility, accuracy and production levels, combined with automation and reliability, led us to choose the PlateRite Ultima. The investment enables us to maximize efficiency, increase productivity and reduce waste."
