C&T Matrix launches RAPIDO – the durable PVC Matrix

17 July 2018

C&T Channel Matrix has launched ‘Rapido’ - a brand new concept in PVC creasing matrix. Following a request from Mito SRL (C&T’s Italian subsidiary) for a single piece PVC matrix to sell in the Italian market, C&T developed this revolutionary new product which it is now launching in the UK.

Unlike traditional plastic matrix, where the matrix is formed from two separate shoulders, Rapido is made up of a single piece PVC strip out of which the channel is then routed. This single strip design gives the customer huge benefits in terms of product durability and stability as it is impossible for the shoulders to delaminate or split from the base.

Rapido has already been a huge success in the Italian market and C&T is now delighted to offer the product to the UK market as a new innovation in creasing matrix.

Other unique features include a rounded chamfer on both shoulders which assist the flow of the board over the matrix as well as an extra flexible locator, allowing easy removal. Rapido is available in many different sizes with heights ranging from 0.3mm up to 1.4mm. In addition, as well as centred matrix, the Rapido range is also available in special sizes such as mini, off-centre and double crease.

Simon Shenton, Managing Director at C&T Matrix said, “Following on from the successful launch in Italy we are delighted to be able to offer Rapido, as a uniquely durable matrix, to the UK market. This latest innovation demonstrates how C&T is leading the way in terms of new products and outstanding service for die cutters, plate makers and the print and packaging industries. We continue to play a global role in ensuring that the evolving needs of the packaging producers are taken into account when it comes to the very latest developments.
