C&T Matrix celebrate the success of ‘Corrugate’ by introducing additional lines

15 June 2018

In 2013, C&T Channel Matrix launched a revolutionary creasing matrix specifically dedicated to the corrugated board industry. Corrugate was developed to help eliminate costly cracking, registration, runnability and adhesion problems normally associated with creasing corrugated board.  Responding to user feedback, C&T has recently announced the launch of new sizes, including a 15mm base for narrower creasing, and an increased choice of items with an internal chamfer finish.

Since its launch, Corrugate has been providing market leading corrugated convertors such as Smurfit Kappa and Saica Groups with an excellent solution to the problems associated with creasing corrugated material.

Corrugate features include a 20mm base which is much wider than traditional products. This wider base results in a stronger adhesion to the plate, thus reducing movement of the matrix, poor registration and even failure to crease. It also eliminates parallel marks known as ‘witness marks’ which can be unsightly and even weaken the board. This wider base also helps to ‘cushion’ the impact of the crease and reduce cracking.

Such has been the success of Corrugate that C&T increased the range in May 2018 to feature a new 15mm base version for narrower creasing areas. Furthermore, a number of new sizes featuring an internal chamfer finish to further reduce cracking have also been added to the range.

Simon Shenton, managing director at C&T Matrix said, “The Corrugate range has been a huge success and is now the product of choice for many leading European corrugated convertors. We have listened to the corrugated industry and used our expertise to further improve our Corrugate offering. The new 15mm base version and the new internal chamfer items complete the range and give our customers the widest choice of dedicated creasing matrix for corrugated applications available on the market.”
