Copapharm Europe SCRL (Société Cooperative Responsabilité Limitée) has been established, representing a co-operative grouping with limited responsibility, and putting the previous loose alliance of independent packaging and labelling companies onto a more formal basis. Each member company now has an equal shareholding in the new company
The original alliance developed as a result of pan European pharmaceutical companies seeking print partners with local knowledge combined with extensive capability, enabling them to consolidate packaging requirements across a number of European countries for best effect. The additional benefits of using alliances like Copapharm are said to be the support, co-operation and capacity available between its members for major and complex projects. Other benefits claimed include quality standards and continuous benchmarking that ensure customers obtain the best printing and packaging products.
The 10 member companies in Copapharm Europe, include Faller (Germany), Packart and Rotanotice (France), Palladio and Zannini (Italy), Goldprint (Belgium), Storey Evans (UK), and Icesa, Pans an Cartonplex (Spain). They operate from a total of 19 manufacturing sites across Europe and have a collective total capacity of 6.5B folding carton units, 4.6B leaflet units and 3.2B label units.
