Continuous sheeting of photo papers

21 September 2011

A new speciality sheeter from Maxson Automatic Machinery for the photographic papers market is equipped with a shaftless rollstand, a precision cutter, delivery section, stacking station and off-loading conveyor unit that eliminates the need for manual contact when discharging reams of sheets.

The cutter’s dual motor drive sheet length control provides +0.25mm accuracy on cut-offs between 380-1,525mm lengths and up to 1,564mm widths. The cutter is fitted with an automatic squaring system that requires no operator adjustment.

Designed to accommodate a wide range of photographic papers and format sizes, the new sheeter includes a reject gate that diverts sample sheets or off-quality material from the stacking station. The delivery system has a continuous run design that allows the sheeter to operate while discharging ream counts in increments as small as 25 sheets.

The stacking system uses air floatation and an extending grid to pile and automatically discharge large sheet format sizes gently. The off-loading conveyor delivers the reams of sheets to the packaging process without operator intervention.
