Mühlbauer Technology Group, has delivered a complete RFID factory equipment to South Korea based fine chemical manufacturer exax. The Asian converter is expanding its business into RFID label, ticket and baggage tag production. Mühlbauer will supply all equipment for exax’s RFID inlay production, label converting and label insertion.

Exax will produce the RFID inlays with the TAL 10000 – Mühlbauer’s direct chip attach system for wide web applications. The system is said to provide a throughput of up to 11,000 uph.

Exax also plans to use the CL 15000 and IL 15000 converting and insertion machines for converting the RFID inlays into smart labels, smart tickets and RFID baggage tags.

Ralph Fabris, in charge of the Korean market at Mühlbauer, points out: “One of the expected fastest growing markets world wide and for RFID in South Korea is the ticket and baggage tag application.”

“The ability to see all the machines working in the comprehensive showroom is not a standard in the industry and had a clear influence in our decision pro Mühlbauer. In addition, we appreciate the wide know-how and technological leadership of Mühlbauer, putting us in the position to ramp up our RFID production in such a short time,” says Seong Kon Chi, the vice president, overseas marketing of exax.
