5 September 2013

Spain's Comexi Group has opened the Comexi Group Research facility, a 550m² permanent space dedicated to the research and development of new products. It will also be open to collaborative research among clients, partners and co-suppliers, offering "a private area which will guarantee the confidentiality of both Comexi's Group own developments and the ones of the partners involved in them".

The new research centre facilities have a large machinery park, including a flexo system capable of printing in solvent, water, water-based EB and WetFlex, and EB continuous lamination. Is also has a multi-trolley laminator and a latest generation slitter and rewinder. In addition, it will have a gas chromatograph to control solvent retention, and a digital dynamometer to control the bond strength.

Comexi is also establishing the Manel Xifra Boada Technology Centre, which will base its activity on training and consultancy, academic activities and innovation.
