ETI Converting Equipment and RDP Marathon have formed a strategic alliance for the integration of an innovative and fast digital unit that will transform ETI's Mini-Cohesio equipment into a digital inkjet platform production label line.
RDP Marathon has provided its JFlex digital printing unit for installation on the Cohesio equipment. This unit is capable to run at 70m/min with a high quality printing of 14 micron dots at 1,600 x 1,375 dpi.
Combined with ETI's Pellicut technology that enables to diecutting on very thin liner, this simple concept is expected to open new markets for label printers. It will also allow printers to produce finished labels at a very competitive price for small and medium production runs, the companies promise.
A Mini-Cohesio machine with the digital unit installed will be demonstrated at Labelexpo in Brussels on 29 September-2 October this year.
