With sales up by 13.3 per cent in the first half of 2007, Swiss manufacturer Collano is doubling production capacity for multilayer adhesive films at its Xiro site in Schmitten. The investment for the new building and the production infrastructure amounts to CHF10M. Production is scheduled to start in the first half of 2008.
The core of the technical expansion is the implementation of a blown extrusion system that will make it possible to manufacture films with five plies or layers in one pass - an innovation in the field of thermoplastic adhesive films, claims Collano. The facility will give the company space and technology it needs for future developments.
