Co-operation benefits

24 June 2003

The Euro P3 co-operative association of four European manufacturers of pharmaceutical folding cartons is said to be so successful that it intends to expand the alliance in the near future.

Wilfried Zölzer, managing director of Artur Theis, of Wuppertal, says the association is negotiating with other candidates for membership, although only a limited expansion is under consideration. "New members must be of a similar structure and be right for us," he says.

Euro P3 was set up in 1999 in response to mergers between major pharmaceutical concerns and the resulting combined volumes of purchases. It currently consists of four family run companies: Autajon, France, Regia Wassermann, Switzerland, Artur Theis, Germany, and Grafica Zannini, Italy.
