The current weakness of the US dollar, a strong US manufacturing sector, bargain airfares, and inexpensive hotel rooms will result in a surge in visitors from Europe and other countries to CMM International 2005, according to the show organizer. The event runs in Chicago on April 18-21.
CMM International president Ian Johnston says: "The Euro has consistently been worth 30 per cent more than the dollar for several months and some economists predict it will increase as high as 50 per cent within the next several weeks. When you combine these savings with the savings of paying for shipping costs in Euros, some EU converters will be able to buy US machinery for less than half of the normal cost."
In addition to the Euro/Dollar exchange rate, he says bargain airfares to Chicago and discounted hotel rooms, combined with the favourable monetary conversion, can save visitors hundreds of dollars. The US manufacturing sector is also the strongest it has been in five years allowing more US exhibitors to offer special pricing packages, he adds.
