UK boxmaker Reliant Packaging has installed a cloud-based version of the SPOCSCE software from KM Software Systems, to help manage operations at its Peterborough plant. The software handles the core elements of running a corrugated boxmaking plant, while the cloud-based configuration allows key personnel to access the system from off-site, using the internet.
Established for more than 40 years as, predominantly, a box and packaging supplies merchant, Reliant Packaging recently moved into manufacturing assembled divisions and pads, along with trade work. Managing director Paul Fowler and his team decided that a robust, yet easy-to-use plant operations system would be vitally important.
Fowler says: "What we needed was a system that was user-friendly, cost-effective and required a minimum amount of hardware. KM Software had the answer in its SPOCSCE software running on cloud storage. The installation was extremely quick. Our customer and supplier details were exported from our accounts package, we input our board prices and our printers were configured - that was pretty much it. In a matter of hours we were up and running.”
SPOCSCE is designed to give users an integrated and scalable operations system that maximises efficiency and minimises admin. The software handles elements from enquiry right through to invoicing, including specifications, order processing, purchasing and stock control. The cloud-based version gives sales and managerial staff the ability to edit information and generate quotes from wherever they happen to be, as long as they have internet connectivity.
