Closer colour comparison

11 June 2008

New software for digital web monitoring shown at drupa 2008 by Erhardt+Leimer provides web inspection with automatic colour comparison by master image and an extended field of view.

The software is best suited for the inspection of homogeneous colour areas such as on logos and trademarks, and for forms and packaging printing. The colour comparison requires that a master image is learned and analysed. In the course of the analysis the master image is segmented into colour areas of identical colour shade and intensity. The segmented areas can be deselected individually, as required by production.

The alarm values for colour deviations can be set individually. Digital outputs may be switched if an alarm value is exceeded. The deviations are shown as numeric values so that the operator can react immediately on the basis of this precise information. The master values in turn may be adapted to the actual requirements of production.
