The latest company to be acquired by the Clondalkin Group is Accutech Films, an Ohio based producer of customized plastics films for industrial, agricultural, and food and beverage applications.
The acquisition, for an undisclosed figure, further expands Clondalkin’s presence in the North American flexible packaging sector. Accutech will augment the group’s plastics packaging businesses that include Fortune Plastics with production facilities in Connecticut, Tennessee, Illinois, Florida and Arizona – as well as Toronto based Direct Plastics, acquired in June, 2007.
Norbert McDermott, ceo of Clondalkin, remarks: “Accutech’s growth record and strong product differentiation are key attractions for us. Between our North American and European plastic packaging operations, we operate 10 dedicated plants supplying high barrier, multilayer, printed and biodegradable plastic films to specialist applications in the industrial, food, beverage, retail, medical and agricultural and horticultural markets. Accutech represents a significant expansion for us in these segments.”
