Clondalkin Group has bought the Direct Plastics Group, one of Canada’s leading privately held converters of flexible packaging.
Direct Plastics produces flexible packaging products selling into Canada and the US, which include high quality packaging products to the frozen food, confectionery, horticulture and animal care markets.
The acquisition expands the $1bn a year company’s presence in North American and will add to Clondalkin’s US plastic packaging businesses that include plants in Connecticut, Tennessee, Illinois, Florida and Arizona.
Clondalkin chief executive Norbert McDermott says: “The acquisition alongside significant investment in our existing businesses, demonstrates our ongoing commitment to the flexible packaging markets in North America and Europe.”
