China's Jingxing Paper Joint Stock Co is receive an OptiConcept M containerboard production line from Metso for its Pinghu site in Zhejiang Province. The new line is targeted to produce high quality containerboard grades out of 100% recycled raw materials. Start-up of the machine is scheduled for 2014.
The line, whose value has not been disclosed, will be the fourth OptiConcept M-type to be supplied to Asia. The newest member in the OptiConcept M family, it widens Metso's offering to serve the narrower trim width of 5,650mm. "This represents our strategic move to enter this narrow segment, especially in China and Asia-Pacific," says Petri Paukkunen, vice president, paper mills sales and marketing, Metso.
The new 5.65m wide (trim) machine, PM 16, will produce fluting grades out of recycled raw materials in the basis weight range of 70-120g/m². It daily production capacity will be approximately 880 tonnes, and the design speed 1,100 m/min.
Jingxing Paper's Zhejiang operation manufactures kraft liner board, white top linerboard, high strength corrugated base paper, other special paper, corrugated cardboard as well as tissue paper.
