Chinese choose cut-size lines from KPL

2 March 2010

Zhanjiang Chenming Pulp & Paper Co (Zhanjiang Chenming), one of China’s largest paper manufacturers, has ordered two cut-size sheeting and packaging lines from ECH Will and Pemco. The two Körber PaperLink Group (KPL) companies will deliver a 16-pocket and a 6-pocket line to Zhanjiang, Guangdong Province, by the end of this year.

Both converting lines are expected to start production in the first half of 2011, enabling Zhanjiang Chenming to process an additional 200,000 tonne of wood-free, uncoated fine paper to cut-size papers/year.

The high capacity 16-pocket line comprises a 3,480 mm wide SLK cut-size sheeter with five single unwinds, two Pemco high speed packaging lines, as well as palletisers, pallet packaging and pallet strapping. The second line, providing a high degree of flexibility, consists of a 1,350 mm wide SLK cut-size sheeter and a packaging line from Pemco. This is designed to convert a wide range of sizes, mainly specials, and is equipped with a case packer/lidder that can process five and 10 reamscase.

The total order includes a module of ECH Will’s Manufacturing Execution System which individually labels the ream, case and packaged pallets with the corresponding customer data.
