The latest investment at Chesapeake Pharmaceutical and Healthcare Packaging’s Tewkesbury, UK, site is a Perfecta 132TS Flowline high speed, heavy-duty precision guillotine from Intelligent Finishing Systems. Equipped with pre and postcut stack handling, the new guillotine follows earlier installations of a Perfecta 132TS Flowline at Tewkesbury and one at its sister site in Greenford.
Mark Wilson general manager of Chesapeake’s Leaflets UK & Ireland business, explains: “Tewkesbury had previously been a B2 site, so we clearly needed a system to support our new KBA 106 B1 press and our increased maximum sheet size of 1,060 x 740mm. The Perfecta 132TS Flowline was chosen because it offers the right levels of flexibility and functionality while remaining a cost effective solution. “It also brings the most advanced levels of touchscreen technology, along with the ability to recall previous setups. As it is CIP3 compliant, it will be included in our existing SFDC set up.”
Chesapeake’s Perfecta 132 TS Flowline has a comprehensive paper handling system, which can be configured together with airbed sidetables to meet specific operational requirements. As well as the slotless bed and 5min failsafe knife-change system, its on-board computer can store up to 400 programs with up to 8,000 cut marks and recorded comments via a high profile 19 inch interactive colour screen display. Its doubly-enclosed cast iron frame ensures long life and lifelong stability, while intuitive computer controls assist fast and easy operation.
