Celanese sells Trespaphan business

Celanese is to sell its Trespaphan global OPP film business to a consortium consisting of Dor-Moplefan and private investment firm Bain Capital for approximately €200M. The deal is due to be completed by the end of the year.

In 2001, Trespaphan generated sales of €281M. The business has 1,400 employees and four production sites in Germany, France, South Africa and Mexico. Netherlands based Dor-Moplefan also produces PP films. It recently acquired Australian PP supplier Shorko.
