North American-based pressure sensitive and film materials giant CCL Industries is to acquire the assets of Advanced Packaging Films in Schkopau, near Leipzig, for $9 million. The deal is expected to close on 31 October, after which the company will trade as Advanced Performance Films, an integral part of the CCL Label global Food & Beverage business.
Guenther Birkner, president of the Food & Beverage business, comments:"This new capability allows us to design proprietary, speciality films for new sleeve and pressure-sensitive label applications while improving our supply chain performance for part of today's demand. It is an important strategic step as we seek to accelerate growth with global brand-owners in the premium segment of this market."
