Cast film resin stretches cost and energy efficiency

19 May 2011

SABIC says its new‘cost-effective’ LLDPE 430BE, linear low density polyethylene resin for cast film applications offers excellent mechanical properties, outstanding quality consistency, improved stiffness and the potential to improve line speeds considerably.

Acording to the company, this combination of properties opens up new opportunities for energy and material savings – enabling converters to improve their cost efficiency as well as their sustainability performance.

Its increased density is said to suit LLDPE 430BE for use as a ‘low cling’ outer layer in differential cling stretch film applications. Its high quality consistency and specific design enables converters to improve line speeds without compromising on a stable and consistent manufacturing process. Used as a side-encapsulator with SABIC’s LLDPE 318BE and LLDPE 6318BE resins, it is said to make cast film line speeds up to 1,000m/min feasible.
