Canada’s Cascades Tissue Group is to acquire the tissue business of Atlantic Packaging Products for the $60mn. The deal will enable Cascades to increase its annual capacity of recycled tissue by 55,000 tonne and augment its converting capacity by nearly 70,000 tonne.
Alain Lemaire, president and CEO, states: “The tissue sector has proven itself to be recession resistant showing steady growth through the economic cycles and we believe business perspectives for this sector will continue to be advantageous for us going forward, particularly in the area of recycled products where Atlantic brings us added expertise”.
