The installation of its first cut-crease press - a Brausse 1050 SEH - has added extra capacity and capabilities to Carton Edge's confidential trade finishing service. The Coventry, UK, based company has also invested in a Brausse TA1100 folder-gluer.
Eddie Owen, chairman of Carton Edge, says: "Every day our converter and cartonmaker customers have to cope with shorter and shorter lead times and more complexity. Adding diecutting gives us an extra dimension in the services we offer. Also, with the prevalence of Just In Time manufacturing among packer-fillers and brand-owners, we have to keep investing in equipment, people and systems to give our customers the service levels and turnaround times they need."
The Brausse 1050 SEH, is a 7,500 sheets/hour cutting and creasing press with a heated upper beam to aid the conversion of plastics. The press also features a non-stop feeder, non-stop delivery and motorised pressure adjustment.
The TA1100 C4/6 folder-gluer handles straight-line, crash-lock and 4/6 corner cartons at speeds of up to 325m/min. It features three-carrier construction, left and right lower glue pots and remote control.
