Austrian producer of one-side coated paper for labels and flexible packaging Brigl & Bergmeister (B&B) has signed a co-operation agreement with the Swiss-based Cham Paper Group. Once base paper production at Cham's facility has been shut down, B&B will take over the production and marketing of its silicone base papers (clay coated kraft paper).
The first products will be available during the second half of 2013. Following this, there are plans to make further investments in expanding capacity at B&B's Niklasdorf site in 2014.
In September 2013, the PM5 in Vevce, Slovenia, will receive a new film press which will increase capacity by 20,000 tonnes. It will enable development of new products in the label paper and flexible packaging range thanks to an improved pre-coating process.
