In Austria, Brigl & Bergmeister is investing in a 5,000 tonne capacity increase and higher energy efficiency at its Niklasdorf mill.
A new SpeedSizer film press from Voith will replace the conventional size press for the mill's paper machine. A qDryPro non-contact energy efficient compact infra-red and air-drying combination will be also installed, and the steam and condensate, and air handling systems will be modified.
In addition to the increase in annual capacity reduced energy consumption, and improvements in the quality of the existing product range, this investment will enable B&B to develop innovative speciality papers. Installation is scheduled for September 2015, as an addition to the new headbox already installed in April 2014.
Modernisation and extension measures are also being implemented at the company's Vevce mill in Slovenia, initiated in 2013 by installation of a film press. Development there focuses, among other things, on improvement of the barrier properties of flexible packaging papers.
