Amcor Flexibles Raackmann, in Denmark, has ordered a high speed triplex laminator from Polytype Converting. The machine is designed to handle a wide range of flexible substrates, including low gauge films and aluminium foil, using both solvent based and solventless adhesives.

UK heatseal, precut lid manufacturer Chadwicks of Bury has received approval from the US FDA for its lidding manufacturing facility. The award follows certification to the BRC/IOP Packaging Standard last year.

Dublin based HB Label Print installed a Mark Andy 2200 eight colour, 10in flexo press in April 2002. In the 18 months since, "turnover has soared", says HB director Ian Bowden. "The combined capabilities of the 2200 and using the most up to date ink and repro technologies offers us the ability to compete with any of the major converters in Ireland."

Dow Europe has announced a price increase of €100/t for all LDPE and HDPE resins.

Ashe Converting Equipment has sold two 1,300mm web width Sapphire slitters to Zijiang Colour Printing and Pharmaceutical Packaging Co, of Shanghai, China. They will slit flexible packaging.
