Converting Solutions has supplied two slitting and rewinding machines to a large foil converter in Istanbul, Turkey. The first machine is a Consol DC-330 two-bar model for hot stamping foils. BASF's new ester resistant nyloflex FE printing plate is said to be resistant to the ethyl acetates (esters) and alcohols contained in the two-component inks for flexo preprinting white. It is also said to permit a long run length when used with UV printing inks. The evenly good area coverage remains constant over the total print run, and register problems encountered in the use of rubber finished plates do not occur with this plate, says BASF.
