Brückner Formtec shows off CPP line

16 October 2006

Brückner Formtec recently presented its new 4.2m, three-layer cast polypropylene line during a two-day event at the company’s site in Siegsdorf, Germany. Speeds up to 300m/min at a film thickness of 10 micron were demonstrated to an audience of over 150 specialists from the BOPP and CPP film industry worldwide.

Due for delivery to a major film producer in China, the CPP line had an integrated pull roll design and jumbo roll winding technology with Brückner’s patented LIWIND contact roll positioning and damping. It featured a 4.6m die lip width and 4.2m net film width on the winder. With one 175mm main extruder and two 105mm co-extruders, it had a capacity for 10,000t/year of three-layer film.

Julian Leingartner, product manager for CPP lines, enthused: “I am very pleased about the process stability achieved within only a few days of adjustment. The process control system with its intuitive, graphical user interface linking all production units was a key factor in fine tuning the machine set-up, resulting in a superior film thickness profile of only one per cent at two-sigma standard deviation. It provides a solid base for utmost productivity under all conditions.”

Suppliers participating in the event at Siegsdorf included Applied Materials, Borealis, PCI Consulting and Brückner Maschinenbau.
