The specialist barrier cartons made by Boxes LPF, Holland, are now available to a wider market. The Lined Cartons and Peeltop Cartons have been proven in the company’s local markets for protecting sensitive products from moisture, air, light and odours.
Chris Hill, sales and marketing director of parent company Clondalkin Group’s Specialist Packaging Division, says: “These products have been used successfully for many years within the Benelux region, but we would now like to present them to a wider European audience. We are already seeing a great deal of interest, especially from within the food and confectionery sectors.”
Lined cartons have an integrated liner that can be constructed with a range of laminate materials, depending on the needs of the product. The inner and outer section can be filled and sealed during a single production run, giving operational cost advantages.
The Peeltop carton is laminated with a special barrier foil that is sealed during the filling process to create a barrier against leakage of powders, oils, and other fluids. Aluminium coated cartonboard also creates a barrier against light penetration for light sensitive products.
