BOPP brace for PS applications

20 August 2010

ExxonMobil Chemical is introducing two new Label-Lyte biaxially oriented polypropylene (BOPP) film grades for pressure sensitive label applications. They are designed to comply with EU directives limiting the emission of volatile organic compounds (VOC) during manufacture.

Label-Lyte 50LL539 OPP and Label-Lyte 60LH538 are both two-side coated, multi-layer BOPP label facestocks designed for applications requiring durability and aesthetic appeal. Label-Lyte 50LL539 is clear, while Label-Lyte 60LH538 is a white, cavitated film.

These new films are designed for low static in unwinding, while the print surface of both grades is said to enhance ink adhesion and press performance with water and solvent based flexo and gravure inks.

Label-Lyte 50LL539 can be used in the US market in most food contact applications. The opacity of Label-Lyte 60LH538 makes it suitable for back side printing.
