BOPET film line comes on stream

12 February 2013

Flex Films, part of the India-based $1.2 billion Uflex Group, has begun commercial production at its new state-of-the-art greenfield facility in Elizabethtown, Kentucky, USA. This facility houses the USA's first 8.7m wide biaxially oriented polyester (BOPET) film line running at 500m/min - with an annual capacity of 36,000 tonnes of film. A second 8.7m line is planned for the site.

Flex Films is now able to deliver freshly manufactured film to all of its customers in North America within seven days. The commissioning of the new plant brings its annual global BOPET film capacity up to 300,000 tonnes, reinforcing the company's status as the world's leading manufacturer of polyester film for packaging applications.
