Boosting blown and cast film

11 March 2003

A new K-Resin styrene-butadiene copolymer from Chevron Phillips Chemical is claimed to provide enhanced thermal stability for a broader processing window, to produce thin packaging films with excellent clarity, gloss and strength. The new DK11 grade is said to be ideal for cast or blown film applications to produce bags, packaging, even confectionery wrappers.

Another new grade is DK13 – said to provide enhanced puncture resistance and good elongation properties. This elastic nature is said to produce a shrink label that will conform to the contours of nearly any pack design. It can also be used to make bags that dissolve in a solution, as used in chemical manufacturing.
