Bobst open house on pharma

More than 170 visitors from 90 companies attended a recent open house at Bobst’s Mex factory, near Lausanne, in Switzerland, focusing on pharmaceutical packaging converting.

The new AccuBraille module designed to emboss Braille characters on boxes during the folding and gluing process drew the most attention. The unit can run at up to 75,000 boxes/hour or a speed of 240m/min. Live demonstrations were also given of the Mistral 80 A1 folder gluer incorporating the AccuBraille module working in-line with the new CartonPack GT with a full speed sampling device.

Other exhibits were the new Lemanic Delta, which integrates printing, die cutting and quality control, the SPanthera 106 LER diecutter with print-to-cut register, and an Angle Lock Blanking System.

Demonstrations at the company’s Prilly factory included the Commercial 106 diecutter, the new high speed Foilmaster 104 hot foil stamping machine, as well as the new HandyPack GT semi automatic packing device for folder gluers.
