A new twin-shaft slitter rewinder, the TITAN ER610 Eco-logical Rewinder, targeted at converters who produce lower volumes of flexible materials, has been launched by Atlas Converting Equipment and Bobst.
To be shown for the first time at the K 2007 show in Düsseldorf, Germany, the newly designed cantilever slitter rewinder is said to be cost-effective and environmentally friendly.
The ER610 can process 1350mm and 1650mm web widths at a maximum running speed of 450m/min. The minimum slit width is 50mm with a maximum rewind diameter of 610mm on twin cantilever differential rewind shafts.
The new machine also features an integral edge-trim extraction system and an integral shaftless fixed-height unwind stand with pneumatically controlled braking system. A digital edge/line guide system controls lateral movement of the unwind reel to +/-50mm.
The new slitter rewinder includes the Bobst designed "3G Cube" format non-obsolescent control system with a 10” flat touch-screen terminal, non-language sensitive symbols, compact flash memory and fault diagnostics.
The slitting systems available are shear, rotary razor (burst) or razor slitting in air or groove. Optional features include a static electricity control system, laser (line) core positioning, EU safety guarding, laser scanners and unwind roll loading trolley.
The ER610 can also be offered as part of a TITAN "combined slitting solution package" in conjunction with the automated SR8 machine, ideally suited to larger converters who address more comprehensive production requirements.
