Metso is to supply a major board machine rebuild to help ensure top quality board production at the Kemsley mill of DS SmithPaper in the UK. Start-up of the rebuilt machine is scheduled for the second quarter of 2012.
The value of the investment has not been disclosed, but Metso will undertake rebuilds of the forming, press and dryer sections. It will also supply a new film sizer and a new softnip calender.
