Bimec says its recently launched STS dual-spindle machine combines the high production benefits of turret slitters with automatic change, due to its innovative systems that minimise the set-up time. The STS has a top speed of 700 m/min and can rewind finished rolls of 600 or 800 mm. The unwind tension is controlled through a regenerative self-braking motor. A control system with linear lay-on rolls is said to guarantee maximum efficiency and sensitivity of rewinding at high speed.
