M-real is investing €60M in production at its Simpele mill, which produces Simcote and Simwhite fully coated folding boxboards. The total annual capacity of the board machine will be boosted by 45,000t, to 215,000t. M-real says the upgrade will result in improved visual appearance, stiffness and bulk for Simcote and Simwhite.
Improvements at the mill will include a new reeler and a new rewinder, as well as reel and sheet packaging equipment. Sheeting capacity will also be increased.
