Bemis to add presses and extrusion lines

15 June 2007

Flexible packaging giant Bemis Corp is to invest more than $21M to upgrade its production facility in Terre Haute, Indiana, USA, in a move that will increase efficiency and create 29 new jobs.

The company, which employs more than 1,000 at the factory, is to install two 10 colour presses and three extrusion lines later this year. Bemis is an international supplier of flexible packaging and pressure sensitive labeling in markets from bakeries to medical devices.

Bemis vice president Melanie Miller says: “We are operating in a competitive industry, and continuous improvement is the name of the game if we are going to maintain our leadership position. The products made in our plants have changed over the past 10 years and our plants need to change with them.”
