Belgians buy high speed Rapidas

17 November 2005

A six colour KBA Rapida 105 with coating tower, extended delivery, non stop pile logistics, full hybrid and UV finishing options and the new SIS sidelay-free infeed system is producing folding cartons at Van Grasdorff Vouwkartonnage, in Sint-Amands, Belgium. The first 18,000 sheets/hour Rapida 105 in Belgium, it features a Densitronic S quality control system said to guarantee perfect colour stability can at high speeds, for repeat jobs and on long runs.

Another of the new 18,000 sheets/hour Rapida 105 modes is to be delivered to longstanding KBA user Antilope, in Lier. This press is also a six colour version with coating tower, extended delivery and an SIS infeed. It is to replace a Rapida 104 originally installed in 1997. Configured on a 450mm plinth, with special board handling equipment and the latest KBA dryer technology, it will join a five colour Rapida 105 with in-line coating facilities which the company installed last year.
