BCS•Andrew & Suter launches multipoint folder gluer

31 July 2013

The new FlexiNOVA from the Andrew & Suter Division of British Converting Solutions is designed to fill "the void that exists between basic gluers and high speed speciality folder gluers". The machine's performance and selling price are claimed to offer box plants "a real alternative to high speed folder gluers whose speed in many instances is under-utilised".

The new machine sits directly between the company's MultiNOVA and SuperNOVA models and incorporates many of their best features. It has 4-corner infold and outfold multipoint capability, and can run trays, crash/auto lock and straight line box styles all with Quick & Easy makeready times.

The FlexiNOVA can run at up to 5,000/hour matching it to many automatic diecutters. Makeready times are stated as 5min on straight line and maximum 15min on crash/auto lock styles. All setting parts are fitted with Quick Release tooling, and electronic speed controls incorporate memory set for easy recall of previous jobs.

Modular in design, the new system in its basic form can run board grades from cartonboard to CB double-wall corrugated. Maximum blank size is 2m x 1m with front and back fold sections, pressurised cold PVA glue system - all in a footprint of 3m. A trombone section and inline compression option can increase run speeds and eliminate the need of a full-time machine operator.
