US manufacturer of slitter rewinders, and inspection equipment Stanford Products has been acquired by the Barry-Wehmiller group for an undisclosed sum. The deal is its fifth acquisition this year
Stanford, based in Salem, Illinois, will be integrated with Accraply, a Barry-Wehmiller division headquartered in Minneapolis, to create a nearly $50M company in labelling technology with locations in the US and Canada. Stanford is a leading supplier of machinery for the manufacture of shrink sleeve labels, which complements Accraply’s presence in this rapidly expanding market.
“Combining the Stanford business with Accraply’s extensive capabilities will greatly enhance our position in the growing shrink sleeve label market and will expand our product offerings in both our new and traditional label and converter markets,” says Accraply president Greg Tschida.
Stanford president Séamus Lafferty adds: “The similarities in our approach to taking care of customers, and our respective desires to be market leaders is certain to create synergies and push us to higher levels of achievement”.
