Avery Dennison adds drum labelstock

11 January 2007

A new formulation of Fasson PE Laser White Matt labelstock from Avery Dennison is formulated for chemical drum labelling and similar challenging applications. It is said to combine a specially engineered matt white PE film optimized for hot laser printing -- one of the preferred imaging methods for drum labels -- with Fasson E400, a special purpose, high performance, permanent adhesive, designed for rough and apolar surfaces such as HDPE drums.

According to Avery Dennison, the face film is conformable, offers the stiffness characteristics preferred for hand application of large labels, and has no electrostatic charge. It is suitable for printing on all industrial and desktop laser printers, as well by conventional and variable information print processes. The new product also offers the broad service temperature performance (-40degC to +100degC) required for dangerous goods transit labelling; and the opacity of its construction is said to ensure that the printed information on the label is not compromised by the underlying substrate.
