At a stretch

28 November 2008

Launched in the UK with distributor Jenton International at this year’s PPMA show, the Res-Uni automatic stretch film rewinding machine from Maklaus is said to be capable of pre-stretching stretch film up to 300 per cent at speeds of 1,000-1,500 m/min.

Rewinding can be onto standard or narrow width rolls suitable for hand dispensers. The machine is said to be easy to use and maintain, and the internal core diameter and roll width are fully adjustable. Rapid roll change and low energy consumption are claimed to make running costs “at least 15 per cent less than other industrial solutions with finished rolls as good as or better than their mother”.

Billed as “three machines in one”, it will stretch film, rewind onto standard cores or - with the addition of a simple attachment - onto narrow width mini rolls suitable for hand dispensers. Incorporation of the latest PLCs and on-screen prompts aids set-up and the machine has been designed for in-house maintenance, with spare parts and consumables all easily obtainable.
