Asitrade has upgraded its glue applicator equipment with the GAPRO4+, which after tests with two prototypes is now commercially available with the MPC-IV litho laminator.
The company says it is possible to retrofit the unit to existing machines.
The GAPRO4+ controls are fully integrated into the main controls with a separate station to enable the operator to control and monitor all gluing functions. The glue gap setting is by a motor on each of the two drives and is constantly monitored and controlled.
Both the ceramic coated applicator and doctor rolls are optimized for minimal deflection, and glue is supplied through four nozzles between the two rolls.
A spokesperson says a significantly reduced glue consumption is possible due to the constantly controlled application, independent from production speed.
