Apollo rises over sheeters

24 May 2004

Following Bobst's acquisition of the Metso Converting Operations (see April issue), the sheeter range formerly under the Valmet name has been re-launched under the brand name of Apollo. Although now part of Bobst's Folding Carton Business Area (BA-FC), these machines will continue to be designed and built in Biggleswade, UK, by Atlas Converting Equipment (formerly Valmet Atlas).

The other product lines under Atlas, Titan, Midi, General and Rotomec will now join forces with Schiavi, in Italy, to create a much expanded Business Area Flexible Materials (BA-FM) under the Bobst Group banner.

Steve Brimble, who is responsible for the Sheeter & Paper Winders Product Line, comments: "Our name has changed but the products and the people are the same. Being part of the current world leader Bobst Group Folding Carton Division, can only bring substantial benefits to customers. They will benefit from the best 'value added' solutions and technically advanced, competitive equipment currently available from a single supplier, through reduced costs and by responding effectively to customer needs and changing market trends."
