MarquipWardUnited has completed its acquisition of Apollo Sheeters, UK based manufacturer of sheeting equipment for paper, board, laminates and films. The US group says the addition of the Apollo range, in combination with continued developments in the mill sheeter market for fine paper and board, will allow it to offer the widest range of folio sheeters available.
The acquisition also adds a valuable UK manufacturing operation that complements the MarquipWardUnited manufacturing operations in the US and Hungary. The combined company employs more than 1,000 people in 15 locations worldwide.
“The Apollo acquisition is an important step forward in our vision of becoming a full-sector sheeter supplier covering the entire market from mills to small converters,” states Steve Brimble, MarquipWardUnited sheeter sales leader and managing director of the Apollo product line. “Apollo’s experienced team will allow us to better support a rapidly growing installed base in Europe as we continue to strengthen our product offerings, technology and competitive position in the world sheeter market.”
The Apollo acquisition is Barry-Wehmiller’s 42nd since 1987. It now has more than 5,400 employees in over 50 operations worldwide.
